D2424LV and Yamaha 01V96 Mixer Dream Team?

Well what I wanted to do was control the Fostex from the 01V96 MIxer as it can send MMC commands from the machine tab .Can the Fostex understand them,I can contol the Fostex with a JL cooper Mcs-2 but it sends MMC and Midi controller commands, not sure which one the Fostex is responding to!?

Can't seem to get it to work with the Mixer but maybe I'm attempting the impossible?,

Sorry I'm a Midi novice! Would I be better off using the Fostex as the master etc etc, I suppose that's the answer.

Anyone got this set up what do you suggest is the best method.

I also want to record Mixer scenes in a software seguencer for automated mixing any suggestions much appreciated...Mike

I was able to do all of the above.Recording the Mixer scenes was a piece of cake with a $29 Voyetra Midi sequencer and the 01v96 MKII Yamaha desk is now fully automated....whooppee.I use the fostex as MTC master and run the clock through the mixer into the sequencer via the USB Thru on one channel and the Control Changes/Scenes from the mixer get recorded and played back on another Channel.Simple really but it does take some thinking about.I find Midi frustrating because you can never tell why it doesn't work.Then I picked up this great MIDI tester on ebay and its really great as it lights led's to show what is being sent and recieved.Its a Studiomaster MA36 Midi anaylser.Highly reccommended.Looks like this
