you mentioned switching up the beat.
I would use the two that Antialias liked. Assylom and TOssed down. In the case of assylum, there was one two bar loop that ran almost the entirety of the track, and in the case of tossed down there was also at least one instrument that looped almost the length of the track
for one its
IMPOSSIBLE for you to know that a two bar loop runs across the entire track on assylom. WHY????
I HAVENT POSTED THE ENTIRE TRACK!!!!!!!!!!! all i have posted is a SNIPPET!!!!!!!!!! the beat will fade in from ***PART***of the intro and will fade out AFTER the chorus and second verse start. have you heard verse 2 and chorus 2 yet? what about verse 3 or chorus 3? if i havent posted the entire song how would you know??????? LMAO!!!!!!!!
if you are talking about the string segment that is panned on the left side what does it do? it loops over and over with the octave starting low and going high the next time it plays. when the intro plays it plays. when the verse one starts guess what happens??? it gets TAKEN OUT. it comes back in MIDDLE of verse 1 and repeats what it did in when it was in the intro. guess what it does when its played in the chorus???? IT RISES 2 MORE OCTAVES HIGHER! LMAO!!!!!!!! the strings that are panned on the right are taken OUT in the middle of verse one. so what sound are you talking about???? if you are mistaking and are refering to that little bell hit that rides throughout the snippet guess what?????? it is taken out as soon as the 3rd chorus is finished. you would know that because you listened to the entire track huh??????
as for tossed down can you name the sound you are talking about? the only sound that plays for the entire song is the bassline. everything else gets taken out at some point in the song. the piano plays throughout the song but gets taken out at all the chorus segments. when the 3rd chorus ends a 4th one starts again and this time the pianos come in on the fourth chorus.of course you would know that because you heard the entire track huh??????? LMAO!!!!
that sound thats panned opposite to the falling strings is taken OUT by the time the chorus plays. that lil buzzing sound that fades in (panned on the same side of the falling strings)is taken out when the strings first come on. LOL!!!!!! what sound are you talking about???????? what about that soft lead that comes on in verse 2???? thats only on verse two and the outro of the song. of course you would know that because you heard the entire song huh?????? LMAO!!!!!!
so please elaborate on how you came to the assessment that certain sounds were riding throughout the track. when you say entire track do you mean the entire "snippet" that i posted? if it rode through out the entire snippet i ***GURANTEE*** that it was removed for a LONG time somewhere else in the song. please tell me where these sounds are located. it seems that your analysis is waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay off my friend.
stick to YOUR formula pimp and let ME stick to what I am doing. now its FAIR to say that you are not listenting to the tracks. if you did you would NOT have said what you did (and that would mean i would not have to take a long time posting what the songs really do). go back and listen now that you have been educated on how the songs are laced.
as of yesterday i was ranked number 57 on the entire iuma site.
*****if you want me to print my stats page and post it for you to see i can do that.*****
the site that you have your music posted at has you ranked at what number?
i had 54 page views, 90 real player streams and 34 mp3 downloads. if i can compete on the net i can compete off the net. how many page hits did you have yesterday??????
anti alias im glad you are feeling the tracks and you know what i like assylom the best. i made the beat for these cats:
these are children of PLATINUM and GOLD artists. if they are coming to ME for tracks i MUST be doing something right.
as for bass i use a lil bit of everything. some songs i use live bass (i didnt post those) but most of the time its from
the xp-60 or proteus sound module (most of the time its the 60). NONE OF THE TRACKS HAVE ANY PROCESSING. no eq,no compression or ANYTHING like that. they are FIRST STAGE MIXES. they are on TWO CHANNELS ONLY. straight from the keyboard out to the hard disc recorder on two channels. if i can get it to sound good like that imagine what happens when i DO multitrack it (which i do after i get it in the ballpark)!
as for nelly and that hook i want you to peep something. who sang that nursery rhyme as a little kid? girls. they sang it over and over and over. guess what happened? those girls grew up. when they heard nelly using it guess what happened??? it brought back memories. why????? they were used to singing it over and over and over as a kid. hell nelly probably sang it as a kid. he is singing it NOW so i wouldnt doubt it. do you see how constant bombardment or propaganda can turn into a potential sale?
that cat used speedy gonzales LMAO!!!!!! guess what? it made $$$$$$$$. everyone remembers speedy. everyone has saw speedy on tv.
west coast cats (especially the bay area) have been using various forms of slang for years. FA SHEEZY OR OF THE HEEZEY OR HIZZO. guess what happens????? cats like jay z rape it and make $$$$$$$$$$ off of it. why?????? effective marketing of the slang. he used something that was already used and had already saturated the people (jackson 5 song) and made his version with up to date slang that the majority of people are NOT used to hearing. same with his hard knock life song. same with his first song that he did with foxy brown.
in fact if you peep ALOT of artist from snoop to dre to jay z to nas to biggie to tupac to nelly you will notice that they all have something in common. wanna know what it is???? THEY will each have 2-4 remakes of another persons work on the album.
listen to the last snoop album. in fact listen to the chronic. i can go back and name EVERY sample used on that album.
if its not a sample they are doing its a replay but its STILL someone elses work.
now go back and listen to your albums now and see how many of the rappers did remakes. you will see A LOT of remakes.
@cyan why did everyone start jumping when they heard the dre song? was it because it was that good or because they had constantly heard it over and over and over and over and over and over??????????? THEY COULD IDENTIFY WITH IT!!!!!!!! they knew it was dre because dre is a household name. his name sells.
honestly i dont remember the beat. the reason i remember "still" is because jay z wrote the lyrics and that kling kling chord was playing in the entire song.
the chronic stuff i remember because i listen to A LOT of clinton.
now i bet if your friend had played the MAN IN THE BOX bassline or if he had played HIS OWN bassline he would not have received the same results. i have a RIGHT to compare myself to DRE,YOU or ANY other producer/composer in this game. dre is a man just like i am. if i compare myself to "the best"(the general publics opinion) who are you to say otherwise? i can give you the name of 2 products that can be found in stores nationwide that either I or my brother RAV (The second rapper on every song that has lyrics) have been on. ONE of the records was on a MAJOR label (mercury). i can give you the names of 5 labels who i am currently making beats for who have NATION WIDE RELEASES (and these are indie labels). i must be doing something right if i did a cut with groundbasics and they are performing with "THE LIVING LEGENDS". i must be doing something if the groundbasics album is geeting good feedback and underground heads have shown a lot of interest.
what releases have you been on? just curious. can i find your works online or offline?
i am a student of propaganda and mind control. people are CONDITIONED to BUY. the need is CREATED. no REAL need exists in the music world. you dont NEED it. you WANT it. the false need is simply CREATED.
"you need to buy this cd everyone else has it!"
you hear a song everyday on the radio guess what? it grows on you. what happens when you are not hearing it on the radio? the NEED kicks in. you NEED to listen to it at home or when it isnt on the radio. you NEED to listen to it because you were constantly bombarded and you cant do without it.
i can name A LOT of people that will DESTROY dre. the thing is they are not on the MASS LEVEL and have not been marketed and promoted like that. give me the same budget as dre. give me the same equipment as dre. give me the same marketing team and let me add my input also. until that happens i have 2 make do with what i have and hit my target audience. in time the hard work will pay off. REAL cats feel it. thats why my name is taking off in the bay area (which is a heavily saturated place for rap).
now excuse me i have work to do
HERESY
PS I GURANTEE WHEN I POST "LIL LAMB" "WHORE OF BABYLON" "GOLGOTHA" OR "DESTROYER OF WORLDS" THE CRITICS REMAIN SILENT AND GO BACK TO THE LAB TO CHANGE UP WHAT THEY HAVE. WHEN I POST MY MUSIC (THE MUSIC I RAP TO.) PEOPLE WILL COPY AND BITE. I GURANTEE THAT THEY WILL. I HAVE FOUND SOMETHING THAT NO ONE IS DOING!!!!!! IF ONLY I COULD GET A TRADEMARK ON THIS!!!!!!!! WHAT I HAVE FOUND WILL CHANGE RAP. TRUST ME EVERYONE IS GOING TO START DOING IT.JUST REMEMBER I STARTED IT FIRST.
