How do I get this to work?
I have read the manuals, and the online help but it wont work.

I want to to record a guitar part using cycle recording, then piece together a good one from the parts. but my overdubs dont 'stack'

i cant get it to work at all!!!

any help appreciated. my manuals dont really explain it well enough....

Highlight the area you wish to record using the left and rigt locators and click on the Q button on the transport bar. Now hit record and play away. when you haver recorded as many takes as you want right click on the recorded event and select "events to part". Now double click on the recorded audio and a part editor with all your takes should appear.

im using cubase5.

i set up L and R locators, and on thge transport bar i click the loop button.

from what i read in the manuals, this is how you cycle record, but its not working for me.

i en dup with a whole bunch ov segments piled up on top of one another in a big mess. i want it like it shows in the manual where each sgement will be in its own slot within the channel Im recording in...

but i must be doing something wrong..?

It sounds to me like cycle mode is working perfectly. Just follow the rest of my mail and you will be presented with the part editor which clearly shows your recorded audio on different lanes.

Thanks

Keith
