I have AMD Athlon 1.4G, 256ddram, SB Live 5.1. Can any one tell me why Wavelab Lite will not open as the default editor. Having recorded a clip, I select the clip and am then informed that I have not specified an external editor. According to the manual Wavelablite should open automatically. Thanks.

The first thing that you should check is if you have actually installed wavlab correctly. Can you open it up as a standalone software app? Next, in Cubasis go to Audio > Preferences & make sure that wavlab is selected as your wave editor. if it is not, find the .exe of wavlab & select it as your editor.

Thanks nattn but I've tried all that. Nothing doing. Wavelab will open on its own but not through Cubasis.

Sorry about that, I've no other advice outside of uninstalling & reinstalling both pieces of software.
