You didn't get any answers, so I'll take a guess at it even though I can't say I'm certain.
I think plug-ins normally interact with Cubase itself and not with Windows. So as long as Cubase runs, I suspect the plug-ins should. But if a plug-in puts up it's own editing screen, it might be another story, since it would then be dealing with Windows. So it really depends on whether the plug-in, in drawing it's edit screen, uses Windows function that are specific to Windows 2000 and are not in Windows 98 (duh, obvious conclusion, right?

). Though I can't say for sure without trying it, I'd think that's unlikely to be the case.
But to my knowledge, Steinberg doesn't claim that the current version of Cubase (v 3.7 R2) runs on Windows NT, which is what Windows 2000 is based on. Actually it
can run on NT, I just don't think Steinberg officially guarantees that it does. Maybe
Cubase 5.0 will be officially compatible with Windows 2000, I don't know. But isn't it true that 5.0 won't be out for a while? I thought it was supposed to be out in late fall or winter. Is that right? I could be wrong about that.
