im new to home recording and i just purchased a layla-24........i wanna know if i should go with cubase or logic for the software.........i do mostly analog recordings.......i'd like one w/ some bad ass plug-ins........also if there are any other suggestions i'd really appreciate it.......i apoligize if theres a similar thread anywhere.........THANKS

CUBASE.........CUBASE...........CUBASE
You'll love it man.
You could check out the Demo first. Cubase VST comes along with some cool plug ins and later you could add a few dozens more.

thanks for the reply......any other opinions? i heard cubase's editing functions arent as good........is that true?

WaveLab 3.0 is the ultimate solution for editing.
VST is an ultimate recording/mixing tool.
You could buy a package called the PRODUCER PAC/24
it includes
CUBASE VST 24
WAVELAB 3.0(3.2)
RENAISSANCE COMPRESSOR(WAVES)
FREE FILTER(STEINBERG)
TC/Native Reverb
and dozens of other plugins

Thing is , VST is the best system in the world. The best Plug ins, the best software synths, drum machines ect.
all are part of the whole system.
For example
ReBirth is an awsome drum machine....it has two Roland 303 type synths , 808 and 909 type drum machines, multi distortion box, delay, compressor and PCF.
ReBirth becomes a part of VST through ReWire.

If you're new to DAW recording then buying Logic would be pointless as it has a really high learning curve and would probably discourage you.

Go with cubase. You'll love it.
