Cubase vst 5.0 not working on new DAW

So I just got my new computer and loaded in the Operating system, windows XP home edition. I then install cubase vst 5.0 and N-track. Neither program will work. When I opened cubase I got the following dialogue box:

The procedure entry point SMApLs-IP-EBP-12 could not be located in the dynamic link library Kernel 32.dll.

I posted this in the computer forum. However, it ocurred to me that some of you cubase guys will be able to help me. Thanks.
 
I have heard of something similar to this happening to others, I am just not sure it was that specific file.. I believe that an uninstall and re-install will fix your problem. Give it a shot and let us know if it works.
