Cubase VS Garage Band?????

I'm going to buy some software but don't know what to buy. Will Garage Band do everything that Cubase will. What are pros and cons of each?
Thanks for any input you can offer. I'll be using a Mac G5
 
stingx, any chance you shed a little more light on the subject?
 
I don't know anything about Garage Band but I went and looked and they don't seem to offer any stats which lead me to believe they suck. I saw in one of their cloudy front pics of a page the guitar was being recorded at 8 bit. That sucks so before you purchase this you may want to check into exactly what this baby can do when recording and mixing e.g. the bit depth, the sampling rate, etc. etc. Initially it appears to me as a toy.
