I'm looking to upgrade may daw and was wondering anyone could tell me exactly what hardware you use if you have a stable system using the Delta 1010s and Cubase SX3.

I'm using an Athlon 64 3400+ (socket 754) with a Soltek K8AN2E-GR motherboard, two gigs of ram, a 120 gig drive for programs, and a 320 gig drive for audio (both SATA). It's been great up until now, when it's been giving me heat problems and randomly rebooting while I'm mixing or mixing down. I think it's just time to replace the CPU fan though, as I've had all the same hardware in it for almost 5 years now

I record on a Slow 2.6ghz Celeron and can record up to 16 Tracks with 16 Plugins before I start noticeing any Problems with CPU Overload.....

timthetortoise: Have you opened up your PC and cleaned it out lately?? if you don"t clean the dust out of your PC periodicly your PC"s CPU Fan will get clogged with dust which will greatly reduce the Fans efficiency to cool your CPU....If it used to never overheat and it now does then I would suggest you take a look inside and clean out any Dust....

Cheers

Yep, I take great care of my PC. Regular dust cleaning, reapplication of Arctic Silver every 4-6 months. I just think the fan's finally dying out.
