Cubase SX2 midi playback but no monitoring...?

Hey,

I have Cubase SX2 running on my PC using my Microkorg as my controller through my Audiophile 2496 card.

I can record a midi track and I have midi input on the track input meter yet I have no sound outputfrom my VST instruments? I have my 'input' selected as all midi inputs and 'out' as the VST (EZdrummer in this case) - the confusing thing is that I can have sound from a VST instrument during playback, but just not in real-time via the monitoring input?

Can anyone shed any light on this? Will the problem exist in Cubase or with my ASIO setup?
 
You have to click the "audition" button, which is the speaker looking button right next to the record enable button. It lights up orange, or yellow.
 
Oh, and make sure you have under Devices>Device Setup>VST Multitrack you have selected

M-Audio Delta ASIO <-------- best latency

and not these which have very high latency (which you have probably figured out)

ASIO Multimedia
