Cubase SX bpm not the same as Protools!?

I use DFH Superior in Cubase SX2 and everything works cool, no probs. However, I went to a studio today and bounced down the drums tracks to upload into Protools. Everything seemed fine untill we noticed that gradually the drum tracks started to go out of time as it went on (like they were a fraction too slow) ... this shouldnt be the case as both Cubase and Protools were set at the same bpm. I bounced everthing down to wav format too, 24 bit 44.1.... I'm also using a Delta 1010 as my soundcard so all midi is set on the internal clock. Any ideas why it's going out of time??
 
Let me see if I understand--your 24bit 44.1k drums wavs at (x)bpm eventually lagged and played back at less than (x)bpm? If the files were on cd as your upload source into the Protools system, this could be the problem--timing data loss caused during the burn of the cd.
Possibilities: 1) did the ProTools system add any effects added to these tracks?
2) did the ProTools system convert these tracks to 48k for playback?
I'm kind of stumped. Let us know what you figure out.
 
Thanks for the reply. The sample rates are the same across the board, 44.1k, and there were no effects added or other obvious changes that would affect the conversion (that I could see). I've bounced plenty of other files from midi to wav and brought them from the same pc to the same Mac workstation and they have all been bang, the problems only seem to arise with DFHS...
 
this is most likely cause by a slight variation in the clocking frequency of the two units. i ran in to this a while back between both my motu 2408 and my alesis hd24, and now the same thing with my 002r and hd24 cuz the hd24 at 44.1k is, in real life, 44.117k. this caused me loads of frustration. the solution? if the tracks will be staying in protools, group the tracks that are out of sync, use the trimmer in "TCE" mode and and stretch them to the grid. or, if there is a way to clock the protools interface to your delta. via lightpipe perhaps?
 
Is it possible to have Cubase on the same machine as pro tools and have pro tools as some kind of slave to Cubase? Thereby running pro tools using cubases clock? This is just speculation. I don't know if Pro Tools supports rewire, never used it before.
