[I tried the Search function, but it wasn't working...:(]
8thstreet has Cubase SE for only $100.
Has anyone used it?
Looks like a great piece of software to get me started -- and it should last a while too!

Judging by the reputability of Steinberg/Cubase software titles, this seems to be a good choice.

Thanks guys,
Justin

I just bought it 2 weeks ago,it's tight.
How does it compare to other Cubase and Cakewalk software?

Thanks,
Justin

Cubase is differt from cakewalk, because the interface is different and it has different effects.

Okay.
I suppose it's worth a shot since it's so cheap!

From my perspective, as I am syncing up with my DAW, it has one major flaw, which is that it does not accept sync, and will only output MIDI Clock, which sucks as a sync format. I wish I had noticed that before I bought it.

Thanks Light.
That could be a problem when I get my second Delta 44, no?

Does Cubase SX 2.x have the same sync problems?

$100 for Cubase SE is a steal. Value wise its worth much more than that. It is limited in comparison to the full SX, but easily worth $100. Also, you can upgrade later and it won't cost you any more than buying the original full version. In fact, it turns out to be $1 cheaper to buy Cubase SL and then upgrade that to Cubase SX.

It will sync to your computer, so a second sound card would not be an issue (I would imagin). My situation is I have outside gear I need to sync to, which does not work with SE.

SX and SL (according to the manuals, I don't have my upgrade yet) can sync to SMPTE, MIDI Time Code (which is a MIDI version of SMPTE), and MIDI Clock (which sucks as it is tempo dependent).
