I've just bought Cubase SE after using Cubasis for a while a couple of years ago. I've just upgraded my computer also. I can get my Midi keyboard to work running it thru an M-Audio midi to USB converter and into a USB port. But I can't get my guitar to record audio (or my midi either for that matter). I'm running my guitar into a two channel "Audio Buddy" mixer. The output from that goes into the 'line-in' port in my computer (which isn't muted) but nothing shows on the mixer after I hit "Record Enable" and strum my guitar. However if I open the Windows Volume Control icon and change the sound level, this causes a brief sound which does show up briefly on the mixer levels. I must be doing something basic wrong but I'm can't figure it out. Can anybody help. Thanks in advance.

Try going back to the windows volume control and this time choose options and then properties. Click recording and make sure line-in is checked. This may do it for you.

Welcome to the BBS, stick around a bit and read up on things. There's loads to learn here and I'm sure loads you could help with :)

Still Trying

Morningstar - thanks, but it still isn't working. Actually in Windows XP you get an option called Analog Mix under Recording Control. Is that what you meant?
