Can anyone help? I have recently upgraded PCs and installed Win98 with a faster chip etc. I have 2 hard drives both have one partition each. One drive is IDE and one is uw scsi. I have always used this setup and have had no previous problems. Cubase is installed on C drive (IDE). If I record audio to the C drive everything is ok. If I record to either D E or F (2x scsi partitions or 1xIDE partition) it records for 1 or 2 mins and then displays n audio record error and says that 'disk drive is full' even though there is loads of space. I have also defragged it. Can anyone suggest anything. Thanks.

What sound card are you using and do you have the latest drivers? Also Go to windows controll panel -> system -> Device manager tab -> and double click on disk drives. Then compare the settings of your C drive to your other drives. Is there anything different? Please post here and let me know.

hi. I had a similar problem except on a Mac. Are you using one drive only for audio and using the other for the OS? That was my setup and I was having the recording problem- only records for two minutes then drops out or makes a buzzing noise. I figured out that my U2W SCSI Cheetah drive was running way too fast for the read/write of my OS drive. So what I did was slow down the transfer speed of the audio drive to about 9MB (as opposed to 33). I used SmartSCSI on a Mac. I'm not sure what software you can use for PC. But after slowing down the drive and the drives are closer to the same read/write speed, everything's cool. Note: I was also having the problem with playback in protools, which was also fixed when I slowed down the drive. HTH
