There once was a note
My motherboard died, had to reinstall Vista and Cubase 5.5

Problem: when I select Focusrite ASIO Driver, Cubase barely runs/freezes. If I select generic ASIO no problem.

I already installed/reinstalled Focusrite drivers exactly as directed, no change.

Anyone ever have this problem?

Must be some driver problem, or the interface got damaged? Any experience would be a great help!

Pete

Did you have MS updates installed previous to mother board failure? Could be an outdated Service Pack. Maybe driver updates available for the Focusrite? Possible you had optimized for audio performance before and need to do that again?

Just throwin out ideas......

Thanks, got SP2 installed, maybe I need three IDK? Optimized is good, plus no problem on other ASIO driver. Somethings wrong with the Focusrite setup.

Had an issue once where I had to completely remove a driver before installing an updated one. Not even close to the same interface but maybe something to try while waiting for the right answer. :) Frustrating issues like this can kill a guy. Good luck figuring it out man.

Thanks, your so right!
I'm ready to drop this fuckin hobby altogether. This is the second component failure on this PC in less than a year. I've got over 100 hours installing the new Motherboard and re-installing the OS and all the DAW software and its still not working. You cant get in touch with half these companies. Pathetic.

My friends buyin a Mac, all this windows PC tweakin geek shit's a complete musical creativity killer.

I hear ya. Is the replacement motherboard the same as the old one? Same chipset? Maybe list all of your pc and gear specs and hopefully someone will get you sorted.

Different chipset. That may be it too. I gotta hope someone at Focusrite knows enough to help.

Thanks man.

No PCIe FW card is the same TI chipset. The MB uses a different "newer" intel chipset and I think that may be it. Old MB- G41 New MB P43 intel.
