Hey guys,

I used the search function, but couldn't really understand a lot of what was being talked about, so I thought I'd just make a new thread. sorry if this is an insanely dumb question...

I have a problem with my hard-drive filling up with a bunch of crappy takes I never use. It seems as though cubase saves every single take I do as a wav file, even if I delete it in the session window.

Is there a way I can make it permanently delete an audio file when I delete it to do another take? I could go through my folders and do it all myself, but that would take ages, and I'd rather fix the problem than have to deal with going through all the files and finding the ones I have kept.

Please help!

On the file menu go to project > pool.

Then right click on the file and choose remove unused media.

Send to trash.

Then right click and empty trash.

Choose to remove from hard drive.

Before doing so, make ABSOLUTELY certain the files you are deleting are ONLY form the song you are intending. If two songs share the same folder then the unused media function will also remove all files fomr the other song as well.
