I thought this would be solved with my new delta 44 but its not, whatever i'm recording, after i've recorded so much (probs about 2-3 mins of audio) all the new stuff starts going out of synch. Its annoying as hell, i've no idea why. Anyone any ideas?

Probably miscalculating the latency offset. Most software has a way to adjust that.

When you record, there's always a slight bit of latency (the delay between when the sound goes in the input jack and when it comes out the output jack). Some portion of that delay is the input processing, some portion is the output processing, and some portion of that is processing delay in software. Thus, the track being played back comes out your speakers/headphones slightly after your DAW sends it towards the output. Then, there is a slight perception delay by the performer, followed by a slight delay on the input side. We'll ignore the perception delay for now.

Anyway, that round trip latency must be accounted for when recording. If the software doesn't compensate for that, the second recorded track will be slightly later than the first. Worse, this effect is cumulative. The more tracks, the less the original track affects your perception and the more the later tracks affect it. Thus, new tracks end up slipping further and further behind.

To compensate for that, most software has a recording latency adjustment. Change that offset and you will probably cure this problem.
