Cubase playback cutting out a lot

Make sure any wireless adapter is disabled. I found this out the hard way a while back.

I didn't even have my laptop connected to any network but the wireless was on and the sound degraded after a few minutes.

Just a thought.
 
I could try Reaper, I simply used Cubase because that's all I know. I'll give it a try.

I was doing some scouring online looking for a single unit that could possibly play 4 separate tracks. I came across the Sonar VS 100(it might be made by Roland, not sure). It has 6 outputs and uses an SD card that can also be used as an interface. I haven't found much details for it yet, but do any of you have experience with a unit like this? Can it play 6 separate tracks simultaneously?
