Ok, I can only assume this is a cubase issue so i'm sorry if it's in the wrong forum, but here goes!

For some reason my M-Audio Midiman 8x8/s interface has decided it doesnt want to allow midi to be transfered through it and allow me play my hardware synths. I have an Elektron Octatrack going in and out of the unit, which is fine. Cubase registers the midi signal and when i hit play on the transpot bar the Octatrack (and chained Analog Four) start with no issues. However, the hardware synths in my rack (all feeding from a midi out on the interface) dont get any signal at all. I have went into sync options and made sure that both MTC destination and Midi clock destinations for each port are checked and still no luck.

The unit operates fine in Thru mode so thats why I assume that it's something wrong in Cubase, I am fairly new to it so it's probably something I have done. It was working fine when i first got it but I have made a few additions to my rack and have moved bits and pieces around, however, I havn't touched any of the midi cables etc.

Any help would be greatly appreciated as I just discovered the wonders of midi between computer and hardware and now it's gone! :'(

Thanks in advance!

Turn on Echo MIDI function on the individual tracks you are using.

If you are on a PC I suggest getting MIDI-OX. It can graphically show you MIDI I/O ports, allows you to link ports, also can display incoming MIDI messages in real time.

Also check out MIDI Yoke from the same guys. It allows you to create virtual MIDI ports and route them within your DAW.

Both are freeware.
