Cubase LE Recording level- capabilty gone

So I am new to Cubase getting the LE with the Presonus Firepod. When I registered the Cubase Recording level input began to show and I was able to record. However after leaving and returning to the unit I can hear myself in the cans and on the monitors, but no recording input level shows and nothing records. Any help appreciated.

This morning I was getting input levels and the track showed it was recording but not playing back sound. THAT IS until i hit my mouse button by accident and then i could hear it play back. I spent time trying to check it out but to no avail.

Cubase LE 4
HP Pentium 4
2.80 GHZ
960mb Ram
FP10 asio driver

Any help appreciated.

On each track there should be a little speaker-ish icon near the recording arm button that turns on monitoring for any given track. You might need to stretch the track down to see all the buttons etc. Turning that one will let you monitor the input; turning it off, will let you hear what you recorded when you play it back.

That is the simplest setup, give me more if it is beyond that.
