Cubase LE issues

I'm new to Cubase, and new to recording in general, but not even my friends who know more about it can help me with this... here's my issue.

My setup: Shure Beta-57> Presonus Firebox> Desktop> Headphones

I'm using the Cubase that came with the firebox.. all my gear is setup correctly and has been tested, it all works fine, except when I open Cubase up, I hear no sound at all through my headphones. I basically just click FILE> NEW PROJECT: then tap my mic and hear nothing. My vocalist, my friends, and all of the YouTube vids I search have no answer.
 
Read the 'stickys' at the top of this forum. That will get you running. :)
 
Are your headphones connected to the computer or firebox?

Also, Like Jimmy said, read the two stickies. Like any DAW the learning curve is kinda steep.
 
I'm thinking about just getting another recording program, cause LE is kinda ehhhhh and I cant afford/torrent the newest Cubase.. -___-
 
Your issue has nothing to do with cubase though.

You need to familiarise yourself with the mixer application that comes with the firebox.

And just to clarify, you need to have your headphones plugged into the firebox and not your computers soundcard.
