Here's an example of what i'd like to do.

I have a block of vocal that i'd like to throw some reverb onto. I'm happy with the settings, and I'd like to permanently apply the reverb to the piece of audio. How can I get copythe effect onto track so that I can free up my cpu load?

I know that I can do an audio mixdown. But I find that very annoying and time consuming. Any other alternatives?

thanks for the help.

1) Bounce
2) Freeze the reverb plugin (using the little snowflake button next to the effect in the rack)
3) Right click on the waveform -> plugin -> reverb whatever. This way will work only on the waveform, and it will not add anything time-wise to the waveform, so the reverb tail after all the vocals will be cut off (unless you have alot of silence at the end of your vocal track).

I'd bounce. I'm not sure if Cubase LE has the Freeze function, and adding the reverb to the file itself is destructive. You will not be able to change it later. Not even if you beg really. (you do have undo but only until you close the project).

You can get the reverb the way you like it and save it as a preset. Then you can right click the wave form and process the wave with the preset effect.
I would copy the track just in case.

when i right click th ewaveform, I cannot select my VST plugins. I can only process with the standard treatments(normalize, dc offset, trim, noise gate etc.) none of my vst plugins can be accessed.

Is there another way around this?

When I get home I will check it out and get back to you.

The way around that is to purchase Cubase SX. That is one of the reasons I switched from SL to SX.

You are right. I checked it out. I have been using Cubase SX for so long now I just thought LE would work the same but I loaded LE into my other laptop and tried to edit and the option wasn't there.
