Cubase LE 4 Question

:cool:Hey All,

I was wondering if someone could answer this question for me.

I have Cubase LE4 loaded on one machine and have since loaded the software on another machine. I`m switching between the two using a Steinberg eLicense USB.

My question is, most of my recordings (projects) are on the first machine, I would like to make my 2nd desktop my primary recording source. Does anyone know how I can copy my projects from my laptop to the desktop while keeping my settings in tact?

You can just copy the projects and put them wherever you want on the new machine. They save all the settings for the individual tracks, ins outs etc..

Do I open the Cubase on the new machine and copy the project in there? Maybe I should have made myself clearer, these projects are very much still active and I want to continue working with them after they have been copied. Can I save them on a flash drive and transfer them that way?

Yup, just save them where you want to and then in cubase just use "open project" off the file menu. or double click the .cpr file in the location you copied the project you want to work on.

You will probably have to set up your inputs again because it will be expecting whatever devices you have connected to the first computer to be there. So you'll get a warning saying it couldn't connect to such and such device. And if your using third party plug-ins you'll have to make sure those are all installed on the new machine first.
 
Ahem.... PERFECT OPPORTUNITY TO BACK UP YOUR WORK.

Organize your songs in folders on machine1 and burn them to cd or dvd.

Put cd/dvd in machine2 and put your projects where you want them.

Put cd/dvd somewhere safe and breathe easier....

Just do a search for whatever you need help with, I can almost guarantee that someone else has allready asked any question you can come up with.

Dude, thanks for all your help!!

I really appreciate it. I got home and tried to copy over a project from one machine to another and all that come over was the VST instrument (EZDrummer) all my other tacks and wave files stayed put.

Any other ideas?

You have to copy the whole directory. There will be another folder called audio and one called images.

Does someone know how to separate my drums (ezdrummer) in Cubase 4LE? I've read somewhere along the way about exporting audio file.

Is there a clear tutorial on how this can be accomplished?
