Cubase Latency on VST Instruments

Hello, I'm just starting to put all my gear together at work, but I have trouble setting up my MIDI controller. I've got an Impulse 61 and a Focusrite saffire audio interface, and the DAW that I use is Cubase. So, Cubase recognized the keyboard, but when I use a VST instrument I get a big latency, like half of a second. I'm sure it's a simple setting to be done, but i just couldn't find it.

Yep, that is likely #2 on things to know, when using a DAW. Buffer settings allow the adjustment of input latency. The computer power/setup will determine what you can get away with.

Most of us are not privy to having a system that is powerful enough to get lazy with these settings. Even with high powered systems, the buffer needs to be lowered, in order to get acceptable performance. How low you can go, is up to your PC abilities.

What is it that you are working with? Computer specs.
