Cubase/FruityLoops/EZDrummer issues!!

Hi. I've been trying like hell to put together a drum track!! I have several beats that I created in Fruity Loops with EZ Drummer as a plugin. I've been trying to put the beats together for a song, and I'm having a little trouble. I've tried exporting them as wavs and putting them together in Audacity and Cubase, but in between the beats is a clicking sound that won't go away. When I use Cubase and use Fruity Loops/EZ Drummer as midi instrument, and use the mixdown export sometimes it creates audio, sometimes not. I need a simple solution to create good sounding drum tracks with different tempo changes, as I am a student and don't have a lot of time. I just want to start RECORDING! Thanks.

Throw away Audacity and use Cubase to host your VSTi (EZDrummer).

If it doesn't do it, get Reaper, as it sure as hell does... then you can keep your drums in your recording software without exporting audio files.

If you prefer to work out the loops in Frooty Loops, then export the MIDI data only and use THAT in Cubase or Reaper using EZDrummer, set up the same way, as your VSTi. There's absolutely no need to be creating WAV files to get this type of data between programs.

Thanks. One solution I found was to put all of the drum beats together in one file. Hopefully if I just export the midi files I will be able to change the bpm within the program. There must be a way to have some sections be 150 bpm while other sections are 180 bpm?? I have Cubase, so I'll try using that. If that doesn't work, I'll try Reaper. Is Cubase LE5 any good? It's what I got with my Lexicon Alpha, I got rid of the interface but kept Cubase. Now I'm using Line 6 POD HD300. Thanks again!

You should be save teh drum tracks as midi files and import them into Cubase. Don't bring them over as audio files. Whew, what a waste of time that would be.

Cubase LE should be good enough to get most basic stuff done. There are limitations on how many virtual instruments you can run and how many plugs or inserts per channel. Full versions don't have those limitations.

You should be able to upgrade to a Cubase 6 for not too much money.

To change the tempo in Cubase, you have to use the tempo track. It's pretty easy. Read through the manual to find out how to do it.
