i have a mic that can only be connected through my usb and i was wondering if i can use it for cubase even though its connect usb. If i can what configuring do i need to do?

I would imagine that you would have to set it up similarly to an external usb soundcard. In the Devices menu, select VST inputs. See if the mic is available as an input device. If not, you'll need to add it as a new device.
