I've just purchased and installed a Steinberg UR22 Midi Audio Interface with it's associated Cubase AI7 DAW software and in spite of googling and reading posts on this forum and others I still can't hear any sound out of it anywhere! Should I be hearing sound out of my Computer speakers? There's also no sound in my headphones plugged into my interface which appears to be connected correctly. Set Generic Low Latency ASIO speakers as default and set Yamaha Steinberg USB ASIO for the ASIO driver settings. I've added "Bus" for audio outputs and used computer speakers as the default, in other words tried everything forums suggest and still no sound. Help!

Hello,

No, you should be hearing the audio coming out of the UR22.
ASIO stands for (Audio stream input output) so the UR22 is now your only input and output source.
First you need to select the Yamaha-Steinberg driver under the ASIO menu inside of Cubase.
Devices>Device setup> VST Audio System > ASIO Driver > and select the Yamaha Steinberg driver.

Please make sure that you have the latest driver available, if not please download it and install it:
UR22*:*UR22 Updates and Downloads*|*http://www.steinberg.net/

Second.- Once you have done these you have to create your buses and set up the VST connections.
Devices>VST Connections> make sure the yamaha driver is selected under Device port.

The following article explains it all:

Thank you Guillermo,

I wasn't expecting a reply so soon and to get one from Steinberg is a bonus. It's nice to see good customer service is still alive and well. I will check out the link you sent and make sure my settings and connections are correct.

Regards

Brian
