Newbie here and I know, I know, this is not a new question. But I am seriously going mad. (My Steinberg website is a farce!!) Please help.
So you can picture my set up, here’s what I have:

Mox8 keyboard connected to PC via the USB cable. Mox8 also connects to 2 power monitors via standard stereo jacks.
Asus Xonar DX PCI Express 7.1 Audio Card loaded into PC
Cubase AI6 loaded on the PC with Steinberg USB driver 1.7.3, Remote Tools 1.1.3 and Editor Standalone 1.6.0
I hit record, play a few bars on the Mox8. I see the wave patterns in Track 1 and hear the sound thru the monitors, so it’s going onto Cubase no problem. On playback there is NO SOUND! No sound comes thru the monitors and no sound thru the headphones when I plug them into PC
I know many forums have dedicated responses to this, but they are very technical and I feel I have tried most things. Could someone please tell me in basic terms, what I need to do? What settings should I have?Thank you.

Did you toggle the monitor button on the channel you recorded to? Looks like the side view of a speaker. This changes whether the track plays input to the track, or output from the computer.

Also in VST Connections, under the output tab, make sure the correct outputs are selected.

thank you both for your replies. Yes, I have toggled the monitor button and my VST connections are as follows. (Sorry...next problem, I can't attach images to this thread despite being in right format:)

The VST screen I have 5 columns: Column 1 (Bus Name) reads: Stereo Out and beneath that Left and Right on separate rows. Column 2 (Speakers) just shows "Stereo" in the top row. Column 3 (Audio Device) shows ASUS Xonar DX ASIO (64), Column 4 (Device Port) shows L and R in a blue colour in separate rows below, and Column 5 (Click) just shows 'Click' in the row below. Sorry, tried several times to upload the image.
Do you believe this is correct?

You need ten posts on this site before you can post a link, but I thought attachments still worked. Maybe something changes. Get to ten posts HERE. Then put the images on Dropbox or something.

I suppose it could be an outdated/incorrect driver for your soundcard. I know nothing about soundcards made for gaming.

I would definitely suggest getting an external sound card (interface) that is made for recording if you ever wish to record a mic or line output, but I don't see why this card wouldn't work for just playback of MIDI.

thanks GN...yeah, checked that just now and all still seems to point to the correct driver. Thanks for the tip though. I'll keep searching...
