I am patiently waiting for my copy of Cubase 7 to arrive from Musicians Friend. I was wondering if there are any issues with the Tascam US-1800 with Cubase 7 running on Windows 7? I am using a Tascam US-200 with Cubase 6 Elements currently with very minimal issues that ever arise with an i5 and 4gb Ram. Anyone here using the 1800 with Cubase 7 that could provide advise or experience with this setup? I might pick up the 1800 since the price is currently only $191 and I have some gift cards buring a hole. Thanks

Ok don't jump down my throat if I am wrong here but.

I'm 99% possitive you will have no issues with the 1800 if you are already using the 200. Most likely the drivers are written almost the same so you should be good to go.

Having a larger interface is also great so I say go for it. You are also really going to dig cubase 7, it's a lot of fun to drive.

Thanks for the reply. I would not blame anyone for advise, no worries. I figured the drivers might be similar but upgrading my DAW and interface at the same time worries me a little, especially since Cubase 7 is still an infant. I am hoping the i5 and 4gb ram is going to be sufficient. Thanks again. BTW... Are the issues with Cubase 7 as bad as the Steinberg forum is making them out to be?

No issues so far actually. I've messed with all the new features as well.

I'm on OSX Lion though.

My friend has this same USB device and it works just fine on Windows 7 but he uses Cubase 5. I use Cubase 7 and I couldn't come up with the slightest reason why it wouldn't work. You'll be fine, the Tascam kinda of sets itself. Go to Devices > Device Setup then choose the 1800 > hit F4 to check your inputs and outputs and you should be golden.
