I was gonna upgrade to 5. Now it looks like I can save $50 and upgrade to 6.

I'd love to here from anybody whose done this.

Also. I see 6 is supposed to work with windows 7 and I have windows xp office. I wonder if that is gonna be a problem?

My guess....

C6 probably works on XP, but your going to get no help from Steinberg if it doesn't. Not supported doesn't always mean it won't work.

Looking at the new features, I dont see a single thing that would justify me spending $150 to upgrade from 5. Anybody feel differently? Its shiny... but thats only worth about $5 to me ;)

I know some might not like it/use it but the new beat detective... er drum editing deluxe looks AWESOME.

I thought the groups thing wasn't all that impressive, just a way to not forget to select all events to cut etc...

Amp rack isn't something I would ever use, but it's good they added it.

I think Halion one sucks ass as far as the interface and GUI goes so anything they do to make that better is a plus in my book, and they did so yay neat.

The new faders looks stupid, I like the current ones. Wish they didn't change that.

Note expression: Just one more thing that makes cubase the midi master DAW that it is (IMO of course)

Scaling tools for automation is a freaking godsend, that is one of my favorite things in pro tools and they added that kind of style to cubase 6. Amazing new feature IMO.

Plus I have heard that you can now have triplet lines in edit window, another awesome new feature.

All of that is enough to get me to eventually upgrade, but in the past Steinberg has done a terrible job beta testing their software and the first versions always seem to be really buggy so I'm holding off for a bit before I upgrade.

I swear I just bought 5. I swear I just bought 5. :(

I guess it was only about a year ago I bought 5. Seems like so little time. I'll watch the videos and see if it's worth upgrading!

I feel you, I just upgraded from studio to 5 mid November. I was kind of pissed that cubase 6 came out so quickly after I did and that the grace period wasn't longer.

I really want to give drum editing delux a go though.

Same here. I upgraded from SE3  to C5 Essentials in Dec. It looks like Steinberg doesn't have an upgrade path for Essentials yet without doubling the price. :(

For those who are interested in Cubase 6/Cubase 6 Artist bundle with high end studio mic, JZ Microphones offers one with pretty big discount...see in their official website jzmic . com, special deals

I've seen a couple of upgrade bundles on ebay for like $150, can I trust em? I really want to get outta this hell hole that calls itself LE4 but not have to relearn how to edit audio in another software. Plus that time detection thing looks pretty tasty.
