Hi There , since upgrading to cubase 6.5 from 6.0 . the templates in the project assistant(this appears when you first launch cubase) are no longer available .
Has anyone else come across this? How can I get them back?

If you haven't already, I would say go to steinberg.net to ask that question. I'm sure there is a way to get the file back in the Preferences folders, but I do not know how myself.

Welcome to the forum Micko! :)

I just loaded up 6.5 late last night only to have my computer lock-up this morning when I booted. :( It recovered itself by doing a system restore and now I have to reload 6.5 again... which probably means I have to reload 6.0 first. (another sad face :( )

The one thing I noticed when loading up 6.0 was it created a folder under Program Files and not Program Files (x86) where it should have been. So, I'm thinking your templates from a previous version are in a different location. You can probably search for them on your hard drive and copy them to where 6.5 is expecting them.

That means you installed the 64-bit version. If the previous version was 32-bit, it is unlikely that it will retain templates.

Cheers :)

Now that seems the most likely cause of the OP's issue. Rep to Mo. :)

thanks for all the replies , So if that is indeed the reason (mo's suggestion) the templates are gone? .......

Seems that you installed or upgraded to a different bit rate version. I did this myself and Steinberg pointed it out to me. Don't feel bad, many have done it apparently.

Maybe you can open a project that you started with the old version and use that to create a new template. Remove all the media, edits, automation, etc and then save it as a template.
