cubase 4 crashing

hi
i just have 2qst

one
is there a way to stop cubase from crashing
when ever i recording and if i dont save i would
lose all my work cause cubase deside to freeze
and dont work again making have to restart
any help would be good.

secondly if any one have a lexicone omega template
i tried setting it manually but i didnt get it to work
as it should cause when i try recording guitar and voice together
i get both sound come out on the same two tracks

1) No idea why it is crashing. What version of Cubase 4 is it, and what is your computer spec? Do you give it time to shut down or just CAD it as soon as it freezes up?

2) How are you recording the guitar and vocals? I would select a MONO track, and record the guitar and voice separately. I expect you have selected a STEREO track, as this will cause both to come out at the same time.

What version of Cubase 4 do you have? I assume LE4 as your using a Lexicon interface.

im using hp pavalion comp,
Amd Antlon(tm)64x2 dual core processor 6400+,6400+ Windsor 3.2GHz 2 x 1MB L2 Cache,
1.79 ghz/2.87 gb ram, 500 gb sata harddrive.
cubase studio 4 (4.5.2) .
 
I know this is something that's always asked, but is your dongle plugged in correctly?
 
the dongle is correct in the usb slot
actually only the dongle can only be inserted
the right way in the usb slot cause if you put it wrong
it wont enter.

Have you installed the latest update?
Have you installed the latest hardware drivers and audio drivers?
Do you notice any problems with latency or pops and clicks?
Is the license protection application showing your dongle as working? (i only asked about the dongle because I had crash problems at one point which was related to (long story short) the USB port in question being out of action.

Finally, do you use, or have you tried using, any other audio software and had similar problems...just trying to ascertain if it may be hardware related.
