Just recorded this semi-pro over the last few weeks, kinda sparodically. The version you can hear is a rough mix, unmastered so keep that in mind. Just looking for comments on the general production and the song itself, its commercial potential etc.

Good Mourning Lullabye:

Thanks,
Neill

Well, the song is pretty decent. The mix is alright, but I would like to hear some more bass. It is just kind of thin sounding, even with my sub cranked all the way up. Too much reverb on the vocal. All in all, nice work.

I can hear commercial potential in the song,
the musicianship is good, the recording doesn't sound quite up to par with top40 radio.

I hear it mostly in the snare drum.
it's pretty thin sounding and too high in the mix.

I like the guitar sound, and I'm actually diggin the effects on the vocals.

and I think a good mastering job will make it sound a lot better.

good job.

The intro vocal seems like it's being sung too soft to hit the note that it wants to. Mixwise the snare could snap through a little more clicky and less body.
The cymbals arent' very clear but that's always hard to guage in mp3s.

The vocal is too hairy/airy for my taste but well done.

Thanks for the comments guys. I'm going in to do some more mixing next week so further comments would be great if anyone has some?

Yup, snare sounded like a paper bag. Work on it a little more.
