Hello, please take a listen to this mp3 that I've "mixed". It's a friend of mine (rapper). Please let me know what I should change, add, take out as far as effects go (EQ, Compression, Track levels, etc.). Please focus mainly on quality, not lyrics. Thanks a lot!!! Any help is greatly appreciated!

"Bottoms Up!" mp3

sounds like 50 lol

Vocals are a little soft in my opinion or something hard to hear about the vox.
Maybe put some sort of effect on the chorus to help. Maybe a tight delay (chorus) or something to make it more full.

First off, thanks for replying! Sounds like 50, hahaha.... I'll be sure to tell him, lol.

As for the quality, what can I add to the vocals (verses). I see you said put a tight delay on the chorus, I will try that in a little while. As far as the other effects, do they sound pretty much right?

EDIT: When you say the vocals sound "soft", do you mean they weren't recorded right (for example, without energy?), or do you mean the effects weren't set right for the vocals.

Thanks again

The rhodes (organ) gets a little loud at times, maybe compress that a bit.

Everything else is fine. to me.

Thanks for the response. Unfortunately as far as the beat goes, I cant change that, because I didn't make it.

He just gave you the info you requested. Maybe I'm confused.

.

I should've been more specific, not the beat, I meant as far as the vocals go. Sorry about that.

Ok then, how does the mp3 I posted differ from this original? What could I do to my version, to make it sound more like the original?

Original mp3
