I mix in (2x) real-time
Heres a song my friend and I recorded today. I think it turned out nicer than my other recordings lately. Theres a pop or two and im aware of it. Im looking for some constructive criticism from you guys that listen to mixes often and can hear the details.

song name: Acrophobia

Recorded with mxl 991 and mxl 990 to dmp3 to audiophile 2496 then audition.

Please give it a listen and give me your input(about our recording and music please :) ) Thanks guys.

sounds really good man i like the vocals style, Sorta reminds me of my friend Sufan Stevens. It is good to know the 990 can sound that good i have one but haven't really had a chance to use it.

thanks man. The guitar was miked stereo with the 991 and 990. fresh strings on the guitar added alot of sound to it. I like the 990 vocals much more than the 990 on my acoustic.

Im still not totally happy with how it sounds but i dont wanna go upgrading stuff if i have more potential with my current equipment.thanks alot.

Nice song and good job... I agree with you on the vocal sounding better with that particualr mic. Kinda reminds me of the Cure.

Guitar sounds good but could use a bit more bottom end because it is carrying the whole tune. The vocals are competing with the guitar in the same eq space - maybe cut out some 1.5K-2K on guitar and up that frequency on the vocal to give each some space. What is that lead instrument in the far background - very trippy! The mics sound good on the vocals/instruments.....cool bass increase as your vocal gets closer (proximity effect). Nice playing and singing too!

The lead thing at the end is vocals just with an absurd amount of chorus haha. Good suggestion as to the EQ'ing. I have alot to learn about mixing. ALOT. Thanks for the reply. Im dissapointed with the dynamics of this song .. i wish i could of got a little bit more transition between the verses and the chorus. I feel like the chorus should be alot louder.
