Have you made your way around crickets? I mean, how can you avoid their kinda-violin sound across a condenser mic along your recording track?

If you're recording inside and they are outside, close the windows. If you are recording outside .... wait until the temperature drops.

Other than a can of Raid and a lot of patience, I'm not sure that you can do much. Those little jerks can make life miserable if they set up shop in your studio.

I live in the southwest US, and we've got plenty of the dang things. My solution was to get our cat interested in them.
This handled the cricket problem.
Unfortunately, I now have a cat issue.
