Hi guys. I use Sonar 3 Producer Edition and a Digi MBox as my audio interface. The MBox as two line outputs in the back, but when I go to choose an output for an audio track is only lists one output. I can record multiple inputs at the same time, but I would like to know how to create two output mixes. For example, one mix for the studio monitors and one mix for the singer's headphones. How can this be done? Why is the audio track in Sonar only showing output for line 1 as and output device and not for line 2? It works in Pro Tools LE but I like Sonar much better. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks a lot. Also, the Mbox uses a ASIO driver. I don't know if that could be a cause of the problem, but just in case.

I don't use an mbox, but the input and output settings in sonar3 are completely dependant on the drivers of the soundcard. Someone with an mbox could better answer your question. Possible on the cakewalk user forum?

OPTIONS-AUDIO-DRIVERS-OUTPUT DRIVERS

=> Is the second output selected?

The ASIO implementation and spec. only allows you to use one ASIO driver at a time. So said, you would expect the one MBOX driver to address all of it's resources with the one driver, so you should be cool.

I don't know anything about the M-Box except that it's original for Pro Tools, but I think Qwerty showed you the way.

Once you get the second output to work, it's no problem making many submixes with the new routing system. Just make a bus and route it to a physical output. Then on each track make a Track Send to that bus and set it to PRE. That will allow you to control the volume and pan on each track.

still not working

I clicked on Options->Audio Options->Drivers
and lists the following:
Input Drivers->ASIO Digidesign Driver Mbox Mic/Line 1 (which is selected)
Output Drivers->ASIO Digidesign Driver MBox Analog/Digital 1 (also selected)

When I create an Audio Track my Input Options are:
-None
-ASIO Digidesign Driver (1 in, 1 out)-> Left ASIO Digidesign Driver Mbox Mic/Line 1, Right ASIO Digidesign Driver Mbox Mic/Line 1, Stereo ASIO Digidesign Driver Mbox Mic/Line 1.

When I select a Digi Driver as my input the output automatically switches to ASIO DigiDesign Driver Mbox (which is the Master) and I also have a choice of clicking subGroup 1.

I know Left Mic /Line 1 is input 1 and Right Mic/Line 1 is input 2 on the Mbox.
But how to I select output 1 or output 2 as my selected output? Does if have something to do with panning since its left and right, or is the same signal coming out of both outputs? I know this sounds complicated, but I hope someone can help me out. Again, I greatly appreciate the help guys! Thanks.

That looks like the key. I think it appears as though you have everything configured correctly in terms of the I/O setup.

Do you have a manual for the M-Box? What does it say in relation to the output ports? Are they individually addressable or is it, as you speculate, that the same signal is dumped to both outputs.
