I really like Flea, but imo live they kinda suck...

And Stu Hamm... I didn't really knew the guy and I found a video where he does a solo thing on a concert (he plays Moonshine Sonata, does some tapping and goes into a slapped country thing).. At the end of his solo moment the audience is boo-ing him off stage !! Sad... Good player, but strange taste.

Just bought tix yesterday to see Bela Fleck and the Flecktones in August. They are doing an outdoor show at the ZOO, of all places. I guess that will be an appropriate place to see the Cosmic Hippo.
Can't wait to see Vic do his thing!

They are a great, unique band. My wife couldn't believe I wanted to see a band with no drummer or guitars! I had to explain to her.....

They aren't saying "BOOO", they're saying "STUUUUU".....

I saw him play with Joe Satriani. He did a version of "Linus and Lucy" on bass that was pretty fun, and he has a lot of talent. Not my favorite bassist though.

Trust me on the "STUUU" thing....

Flea!!!

He rocks all the way. I have always been a fan of his. I believe that his father was a pro. jazz bass player as well.

Les Claypool is a god. I also heard a story that he auditioned for Metalica and did not get the job because he would upstage the rest of the band. I do not know if it is true or not.

Jitteringjim's brother is an amazing bass player that I have worked with a few times.

yes i also heard that metallica told claypool he was simply too good to be in metallica.
claypool is a percussive bassist. i say he plays percussion bass.

I can't believe I haven't seen the name:

Tony Levin

yet... his work with King Crimson and Peter Gabriel among many others......

the meters

george porter jr.

any guy that plays with a drummer named zigaboo just can't help being funky...

willie dixon - who said blues has to be boring?
charles mingus - where do i start?
sir mccartney - so that's what you can with a short scale bass!

lot's o good bassists out there...

tony
