I was thinking more along the lines of "Montgomery-Gentry," or however those guys spell their names. Crawdad kinda' sounds like one of 'em.

Oh yeah, have I been here long enough yet for somebody to explain Sluice's comment to me?

*WILDCARD*

Again, thanks for listening.
Fed: Yes, I am lucky...agreed. I'll never turn down help from anybody, especially someone as talented as Al.

Gidge - Yeah, I can hear Blackhawk too. Sweeeeeet harmonies. Thanks.

Fed - I hope your additional listen was by accident. :D :D Thanks. My version has its place...which is track #4 on a CD that will probably sell upwards of 30 copies.

TripleM - You had me goin for a minute. THANKS A TON!!

SLUICE - Tom, as long as it's not really personally embarrassing to ME, please let me know what the hell you're talking about.

LOVE AND HUGS,
Chris (and Crawdad)

I listened a day or two ago. What a treat it must be to hear Crawdads great interpetation of your great song!!

Quality in = Quality out :)

I believe what is meant by "wildcard" is good hit song potential.

Cyan will certainly put me in my place but, untill then.........

My understanding of a WILDCARD is an element in the song or mix that pushes the tune over the top, that overcomes it's own deficits.

Keeping in line with the "card" theme, I'll give an example of my understanding.

Say you play 3 card stud....if you have 2 aces ( two well tracked and mixed and performed cards) and so does everyone else. The third card could be a wonderfully creative use of delay/flange/autotune.ext........or a cool ass supplimental vocal out of nowwhere or a well written yet obscurely laughable subject matter..........

O.K. I can't always be as clear as I want to. In short, the WILDCARD is the perfectly employed appendage of the original........it is verging on the mystical (therefor avoiding my flacid attempt at decription)..........

Well, my boots don't go much higher than this and I forgot my shovel at work:D so..........

I'll be done.

Long live the WILDCARD. Long live Cyan!
May I some day hold that ethereal trophy in my empirical mind.

to a hillbilly from a damn hippie longhair...

...whoa... excellent. It's hard for me to call a country song excellent, but this is just that. Excellent vocal harmonies, excellent lap steel, excellent arrangement, excellent lyric. Very nice all around, guys. :) Yea, this could sell.

Now dammit, crawdad, why couldn't/wouldn't this song sell? Just as it is? With you and chris performing? You and Chris should put this song under the very blue-noses of some of the blue-bloods in the industry and make some bux!! :)

Course, maybe they'd consider you two a couple of "spiky haired bastards" that they could leech off of, so never mind :D

Oh, man this thing is cleaner than a nuns cunt.
I am a big fan of Craw-daddio and Chris you know how I feel about your stuff...so...what can I say...
The mix is nice and clean, the writing and playing is first rate. Again, I am from Texas so I can say this to you all. Forget anything you know about current country music because this guy is what it is, what is was and what is should be!!!

Mike - That's going on the insert with the demo package. Hehehe...glad you're still with us.

Theron - You're gonna' have to learn to quit being so picky, and to just enjoy these songs for what they are...average, run of the mill, home recordings written and performed by amateurs. BAHAhahahaha (Crawdad's my hero).

Sluice - You have no idea how glad I am to know that you weren't calling me a dick. Thanks for listening.

Lt.Bob - You need to put the hash pipe down...NOW.

Chad - Man, that's high praise. I don't know about Crawdad, but I'd much rather sit on my ass and collect royalties than pack up my comfortable family into a suitcase to embark on a recording career. :D Seriously, thanks.

Jamal - thanks for listening...this is a little out of your genre, I know, so the feedback is great. BTW - The "original" is on my page, along with the good one.

I don't know about you, Al, but I'm thinkin' that Alibish had a damned good point about the intro...(totally unprompted, I might add). :D :D :D

Anybody else agree???????

ok 2nd listen.....and i know how much you dig this so here goes...
nice delay on "always"....gets right to the point..."grabbed my keys and hit the door"...excellent..."over the edge/under the gun"..love that...really..our song isnt our song to you...are you kiddin me?/...thats perfect!!!..i should listened closer the first time..sorta got hung up pon the (country)...aspect ..sorta sub-conciously disregarded it...big mistake sorry bout that i stand corrected..(still stand by my pedal steel statement)....lol...

upon further listen i shorted this the first time through
wont happen again....i suck.
