The Way It Moves
I replaced the tubes with brand new Mesa/Boogie tubes (Sovteks) and its still cutting out.

What could be going on with this thing?

Thanks!

the place you want to start out at in troubleshooting this is the sockets... unplug the thing and let the supply filters bleed off any voltage.... then pull the tubes and look at the sockets... what we're after is any of them that look as if they're not grasping the tube firmly... use a small screww driver (i use dental picks) to close up any that look kinda open... then check the wiring... any loose connections??? also check the boards in general for bad solder joints... any that look kinda dull looking are suspect... try using a magnifying glass also sometimes you can see tiny cracks.... if you find some bad connects make sure when you resolder them that you desolder them first... dont simply add more solder to a questionable joint!! this should get ya well on the way to effecting a repair....

I had a VC5212, which did the same thing. I think it ended up being a relay, which was used for channel switching. My point: it could be anywhere. I do a lot of techie type stuff...I built my own guitar etc... Built computers for a living.... But you won't find me anywhere inside a tube amp, trouble shooting. That's where I draw the line, because I'm not trained well enough. Now, some people obviously are, and I pay them to fix my tube stuff.

Peace!

You know, I thought it was the channel switch button. When I had used a footswitch with this thing it never did this. Then I got rid of it a few weeks ago and now its starting this garbage. Hmm...

Well, nevermind that, I just tried plugging in a 1/4" instrument cable into the footswitch port and all it does is change the channel to the overdrive. I played on it for a few minutes just a little bit ago and it was going fine with the cable in there but then it started doing that crap. I guess it still could be the switching. I'll just take it in to get it fixed.

It's a CRATE :D

You know, I've got two Crate V-32 tube amps, and they are the only tube amps I've ever had that haven't broken. I've had lots of amps, too!
I have heard of guys that have had trouble with them, but mine are fine and dandy.

Even the sun shines on a dog's ass some days.

I'm kidding. I've heard good things about the Crate tube stuff. I'm still not willing to buy one...but I've heard good things.

there's really nothing wrong with most of the crate amps...(ok i'm biased cause i know some of the guys involved) and it's ludicrous to bash them while people defend behrenger and that ilk... i've got one buddy that uses the palomino32 in his studio most of the time for almost everything... very versatile amp for not alotta dough...@$400 for a 32 wt class A amp????

Oh yeah man... I love my Palominos! I went to GC to buy a Fender Hot Rod DLX. I took my guitar in, my pedal board, and spent about two hours bonding with it. I told the manager to go ahead and write her up. Then, I stopped him and asked if there was something else he though I should listen to. He brought in the Palomino V32, and I was blown away... wow, did that thing ever sound great!
