I saw this book on Amazon.com and it seems like it would be appropriate for someone like me just getting into home recording stuff. Should I get this book? Do I need it if I want to set up my own computer-based recording rig and learn how to properly use it?

Has anybody read this book?

Thx

I haven't read that one, but I've read his Mixing and Mastering in Cubase SX and he is good. He knows his stuff for sure.

sorry i didnt read it, but i can recommend "home recording for dummies", excellent if ur a beginner :)

I bought it earlier this year and I consider it $25 well spent. You can piss away $25 very easy - buy the book. Knowledge is power. Read all you can get.

Yes, I second the vote for the "Home Recording for Dummies" Also, "Modern Recording Techniques" by David Huber is also very good.

Anything by Paul White is worth reading, editor of Sound on Sound. He has lots of books and he strikes a good balance between telling you how to do stuff and giving you ideas to experiment with.
