CR 300 "UNLOCK"?

I've used my CR300 cd burner for some time, usually recording through the optical digital input.

Suddenly, whenever I put it into record mode, the display reads "UNLOCK". It will record fine from the analog inputs, but not the digital.

Unlock what? There is nothing in the manual that helps. Any ideas, folks?

I think it might mean it cannot lock to the incoming digital signal (like there isn't one). Could the problem be with whatever is sending the digital signal?
