Does it matter what type of cpu I use with my recording software? I've heard that some software has problems with AMD. If so, what type of software should I use? I'm looking to build a new computer system and I can get better deals on AMD vs Intel!!

Rumor has it thats true. I have an AMD and I use Vegas and cubase. I am no true techie so I can't give you all the jazz on parity and bits. All I know for sure is that those two programs work fine on my system

I've also been reading that a lot of this depends on the sound card. I'm torn between Echo Layla 24 or Delta/66. So I guess the best solution to do is find out what sound card, software, and cpu work best together. More research......

Some soundcard manufacturer states that their card don't work well with AMD processors (or actuyally the motherboards). Same goes for software. Check with the manufacturers and preferably also with people with real-life experience.
