did anybody have trouble with cpu noise running through their audio monitors( i know it's the cpu fan because i unplugged it and the noise went away)don't worry i plugged it back in. any suggestions . i have a Intel P3 370 cpu , the fan mounts on motherboard, no heatsink. cheap $9 fan(coolermaster dp5)

any suggestions?

What do you mean the sound from the fan is coming through the monitors? By monitoring through them or what? An intel fan shouldn't be that loud, but I always had problems with my AMD fan, it was sooo loud, but I didn't have so much of a problem, I still get it out of the recordings.

my monitors have a sensitivity adj. the louder i turn up the monitor, the more fan noise i get. if i turn down the sensitivity level i barley hear the noise, but i don't get enough volume. the weird thing is, i don't hear it will monitoring it through the head set

Maybe the aduio cable from the cdrom is too close to the fan cable and there some noise? try removing that audio cable inside the machine and see if it goes away. :dunno:

I don't have a problem with a CPU in my monitors, it's in my mics that's a pain in the ass. Only 3 solutions- get wicked quiet fans, put the damn computer somewhere other than the tracking or control room, or get a silence case, isoraxx, or similar device.-Richie

What I've done to get rid of noise on the latest machine I've made was use one of those cases where it has the side vent "air horn" that goes directly to the CPU. ~$50 This reduces the need for a ton of air moving through the case to keep the cpu cool.
Then instead of the average 6000rpm CPU fan, I custom fabbed a bracket to fit an 80 mm fan onto a 80x60mm heatsink. They run much slower, make FAR less noise, but have equal or more CFM. Also don't wear out as fast.
Then have an inlet fan in the front of the case but only run it at 5v. (plug the + lead into the red wire instead of the yellow). Enough to move soem air but not enough to hear.

No matter what you do you'll still hear the machine if you sit next to it but this makes a huge difference in how much shows up in your recording...

I'm thinking I could build an isolation unit out of the right piece of hard luggage with a quiet fan, but I still hate the fan, and I want the computer in another room. That's just my choice.-Richie

Don't worry .

My computer have no noise . Because it is in another room . All lines are go through the door .

Just place you computer to another room , this is the best way to reduce the noise .
