Nice. I feel some of the intricacy of the guitar in the original was lost. I understand you were making the guitar more grungy, though. Drums sounded good. Voice was good. I respect the fact that you didn't try to do a carbon copy of the original. Good work on the song. Keep it up.

Interesting, the grungy guitar is incredibly thick. The reverb/echo is over the top (for 2011) but works very well. I may have to rethink my mixes ;-) ... The only thing I would like is a bunch more drums (cymbals are okay). Lead comes in punchy and very Neil Young-ish in tone (better played though).
You care to share some of your instrument/amp/mic/FX details? Who's the band?

the band is my sons band kinda new just starting, recorded with logic on a mac using an allan and heath mixer cheap mics in the garage. don't have a studio yet but working on it.

The rhythm guitar could use some mids in the intro.
Sounds like a live recording - drums and bass too far back, one guitar too far forward & vocals too up front.
This would probably work with some tweaking.

Thanks for the input rayC I will keep this all in mind when mixing new song today. I appreciate all the great tips I get here.
