cover band midi

Ok, brand new at this so here goes....

I am in a cover band and we run with minidisc sequences as well as band. The sequences are 4 track.
At present we purchase the midi files pre-mixed on minidisc. i would like to do this myself.

My question is... how do i go about it? i have Cakewalk Pro and a fairly decent computer. What do i need to record to a 4 track minidisc? i need info from start to finish as basic as it can be described to me because... i want to learn!

Unless your 4track can receive file via USB or firewire you will need a soundcard with 4 outputs and you will have to send the 4 individual tracks to the 4 inputs on the recorder and record them. If you can sync up the 4 track to the computer using a midi cable then you can send the tracks two at a time in two seperate passes.
