Ya it's a song I've posted before.
I am trying to get to know some new monitors and wanted yor take on which mix sounds better to you.

Mix A:

Mix B:

No need to listen all the way threw if you don't want. One thing I am looking at is general balance. Too Dark, too bright, too many lows. You know. that type of stuff.

Thanks in advance

Hmmm. I've been playing drums, but they sound pretty dang close once you adjust the volume. I dunno? :(

WOW! Like NL said, they're pretty damn close. Once I brought up the first one, MAYBE I noticed the drums a little louder in and/or punchier in the second one. Hard to tell. Nice snare by the way.

Thanks Guys! There are several subtle changes that took place between the mixes. You might just have to go with gut instinct :D I know that's hard with the volume difference :o

I may spill the beans yet ;)

Even though the mixes are pretty similar, the second mix seemed a bit better balanced to my ears. Particulary the vocals. I was listening on Blue Sky monitors if that info helps any.

I won't vote...either one sounds good. Has a great Danzig vibe....and I don't hear enough difference that would make me say one is bad, or doesn't compare to the other. I hear and can make out each instrument, and they seem to sit well together. Drums are full...I can make out the individual parts. Good bass, and guitars...they mix well. 2 is louder, but that doesn't mean much. 50/50 man... :D

Thanks Dogman :)

I guess I will tell you all the differences :o

Mix B has a tile room verb on the guitars making it a bit brighter than the regular medium room verb on mix A

Mix B has parallel compression on the bass guit, 1st channel verb is run of the mill bass compression, secondary channel has a very low threshold with a medium ratio and has a adjustable release gate set mildly to make the notes that are played then muted more punchy.

Mix B has a smaller room on the vocal reverb.

And mix B is louder:D

Over all mix B is a brighter mix but alot of it is in the "air" .

I did some general compression tweeking here and there too.

To me mix B translates a little better and has a bit more deffinition.

At least I know I did not go too far :D And I did not F it all up with my new monitors ;)

I realize now that the different loudness of the mixes makes it pretty hard to tell :o

Thanks for your opinions.

Mix B is Killing mix A!!!!!!!!!!

It's a slaughter

LOL

This is the feeling I get when I listened to the mixes. The vocals and bell seems clearer and brighter.......They are pretty close though..... :D

Volume aside, just from listening without trying to pick it apart, I think B sounds much more polished and overall better. Both are good, but B sounds clearer and everything seems to have more space.

So, I vote for B.

Your songs are always original and fun to listen to and you have a cool voice. Very unique. Keep up the good work. :)

Guess I'll Keep the new Monitors:D

Thanks Greg.. You know you have to like this song. You know how many times I've been told it sounds like Kiss  :D Not the vocals, but the song it's self.

I have to replace that yell at the begining. I stold it.
It's clearly a ending yell not a starting yell ;) So says my "yelling for dummies" book.

First of cool tune F.S.!I love those vocals...to me the song has a Iggy Pop, David Bowie type vibe to it whichI really dig! I prefer "B" , as others have stated , it sounds a bit more polished, but they both pretty much rock.

It's a close one, but mix 'b' just shades it for me.

Cool song BTW :)
