Well, I got Cakewalk's Pro Audio a few days ago and was really excited to start using it, but now that Ive started using it I really dont like it. For starters it is VERY MIDI heavy and doesnt really match Cool Edit Pro for digital audio. But if MIDI's your thing then Pro Audio is for you!
But, midi isnt my thing.

I have Cool Edit 2000, but I was wondering if anyone out there has or know someone who has cool edit pro. And I was wondering if you could burn and mail me a copy of the cd along with the serial number and the stuff i need to install it.

I will be more than happy to send you a copy of Pro Audio.
Im a college student and work part time while going to class, so I have VERY little money. I currently have only $30 to spend on non school/living expenses, so I will send you a $30 check as well.

Please help me out. Im really interested in all this, but until I have Cool Edit Pro Im going to have trouble going any further.

thanks!

WEB,
pirated (copied) software is frowned upon round the forums........to advertise you use it is not wise..to openly ask for it is just plain dumb.

ok...
well, I suppose thats the end of it then.
Im working like 40 hours a week just to pay for school. I have no money to pay for cep. I will compensate anyone who can send me a copy. If you want Pro Audio then Ill send it. A trade-off.

Im in a desperate situation. Litterally all my money is paying for college. I have no other ways of getting it.

Hmmm... maybe do without until you can afford it?????????? gee... there's a novel idea......

I couldn't afford a Strat when I was 16 either... maybe I should have just STOLEN it?????????

big fuckin' yikes.........

Bruce

Yeah, Bruce, maybe you should have!:D :D

But seriously, I'm amazed at how angry you get every time someone like him shows up.

David.

No anger shown in this post... I just rolled my eyes is all!

Some people's kids. Hey, but I REALLY need 8 Avalon 737's so if anyone will send them to me I'll send you a Behringer Mixer.:D

"could one of you all help me, or if you know of someone who can."

Sure, Webcyan, I can help you. In fact, I've already done that. I deleted your post about this subject in the Cool Edit forum. Now, no one can accuse you of cross-posting. What are friends for?

Now, if you delete your own posts in this thread, no one can accuse you of brainless public software piracy. This advice comes absolutely free of charge. That means you don't have to pay for it.

Now you've done it....... you've brought out the wrath of Dobro!

technically I didnt double post.
I wrote the two posts on seperate occasions indipendant of each other.

Hope you all aren't mad...you sure sound like it.
I guess Im just frusterated to an EXTREME extent.
Sorry for asking though.

Honestly I didnt realize it was frowned upon that much. I got a burnt copy of Pro Audio from my Dad's boss. He owns a studio and everything, so I didnt know it wasnt totally kosher to ask.
I can understand tho.

PLease forgive me? :)

its $399! ah!....

actually, maybe my university store sells it for a student discount...

either way, Im going to go without lunch every day and dinner every other day for the next month or so...

I NEED CEP. Pro Audio makes me want to scream. Stupid midi crap...

anyway...

I haven't used it but N-track is supposed to be pretty cool, you can download it from FASoft and register it online for about $30.

Ummm.... Mabey as long as you have Pro Audio you should learn to use it. It is quite competant with digital audio. I really can't think of anything it can't do unless you have an older version that doesn't allow for real time effect plugins, but I think they have all had that since version 7.

Pro Audi isnt even worth learning

I guess If I hadnt used CE2000 before it then I would like it, but to go from CE to Audio Pro is a huge step down.

Actually, I have CE2000. ANd the only real difference between that and CE Pro is the multi-track feature.

Is there a program out there that is really cheap but does JUST multi track recording and layout. I can do all my effects in CE and just assemble is in this other program.

Because honestly, $400 is a bit much for me now...

Waaaaaa. Suck it up pal. There is enough freeware on the net to keep you going until you get out of school and are able to put your hard earned dollars to work.

Check out Hitsquad.com

Oh yeah, If anyone has the DW Fearn dual channel mic pre, I need one. Oh yeah, throw in the Cranesong ad/da.....

My Dear WEBCYAN, might I refer you to the excellent recommendation offered by the esteemed Vox.

Or, what Vox said.

N-TrackN-TrackN-TrackN-TrackN-TrackN-TrackN-TrackN-Track
N-TrackN-TrackN-TrackN-TrackN-TrackN-TrackN-TrackN-Track

In case you missed that - N-Track!!!

Seriously, I'm not hurting for cash, and I still feel that this is the program for me...Since I only spent $59 on this, that left more money for Waves plug-ins, my Great River pre, my Neumann and Soundelux, and lots of other goodies...

This may be the only multi-tracking app you'll need!
The URL is http://www.fasoft.com

Good luck!

I once was a poor college student, but I worked a bunch of part-time jobs so I could get stuff like beer, guitar strings, and more beer! Didn't really get into recording until I got my first real job out of college.

Since you are starving collegiate student, WEBCYAN, you might want to look at the Hitsquad site for freeware/shareware.

Also ProTools for PC (it is FREE).

I can't understand why you won't take the time to learn Cakewalk 9?

It is a very good program.

peace...
