Could I store anything on this external HD?

I was just pondering on the idea.... If I use this http://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/HD24Caddy/ and put a hard drive in it I have sittin around then use this http://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/Fireport/ Could I store more then Wav / AFF files on it? I know its not practical but I'm just courious.

Not sure why you would want to do that. An external 200Gb Maxtor drive with Firewire and USB 2.0 connections can be bought at Best Buy for $280.

I was just thinking about it cause I'm thinking abot gettin a HD24 and I would have the Firewire thing anyway and I have some Maxtor 120gb hardrives sitting around.

That thing at best buy is sold out any way

speed and cache of the maxtor

has anyone seen the external maxtor 120 gig drive?

it's usb 2 and firewire compatible... it is 7200 but only 2mb cache... will that be too little for a usb/firewire setup or is this the ideal audio drive?
