I recently recorded drum tracks to a song my friend and I are working on. Everything is perfect except for one drum fill after the first chorus. I've spent hours trying to correct the slight timing mistakes but to no avail; moving individual snare hits on beat with the click track I recorded creats phase problems with other tracks, mostly the overheads. I've tried mixing down to a stereo file and editing all the tracks on beat, moving each of the individual tracks on beat, and re-recording the fill I wanted and editing it in. No luck on any of these methods. Is there a better way to correct this drum fill in Adobe Audition like Pro Tools' Beat Detective? Can anyone offer some insight on how to correct this problem? Thanks for your time.

i don't use audition but what i do for this kind of situation is cut the bad fill out - just the bad fill - and then set your cursor about 10-15 seconds back from where the fill is, hit record and have the drummer just play along with his own drum track and then do the fill. once that is done i cut off all the part where he is playing the beat, just keep the fixed fill.

i start 10-15 seconds back just so that if there was any cymbals ringing going into the fill then it will all match up when you cut it.

im pretty bad at explaining things, but i hope my babbling helped you, GOOD LUCK!
